A vibrant and layered coffee, between sweetness and intensity

In the heart of the Gakenke region of Rwanda, Marfak AFRE is born, a batch produced by Emmanuel Rusatira at the Muzo Washing Station.
This area, characterized by high altitudes and stable climatic conditions, allows the Red Bourbon variety to express a rich, complex and dynamic aromatic profile.

The result is an intense yet elegant cup, where sweetness and structure blend with a clear aromatic definition.

On the palate, notes of strawberry and red plum emerge, followed by tropical nuances of mango.
The sweetness is reminiscent of honey and maple syrup , while the floral rose finish adds depth and refinement.

A juicy, enveloping and layered cup, with a lingering sweetness and smooth acidity.

Anaerobic Natural Sleeping Bag: Controlled Intensity

The Anaerobic Natural Sleeping Bag process represents a modern process that combines controlled fermentation and precise drying.

After a careful selection of the cherries, the coffee is fermented in an anaerobic environment, that is, in the absence of oxygen.
This phase allows for the development of more intense aromas, increased complexity, and amplified fruity flavors.

Next, the cherries are dried outdoors using the Sleeping Bag technique, which helps maintain stability and uniformity during drying.

This approach ensures a balance between aromatic intensity, sweetness and cleanliness , avoiding excessive fermentation and preserving the profile definition.

The result is a rich but controlled cup, where every note is clear and legible.

Baho Coffee: Vision, Quality, and Social Impact

Emmanuel Rusatira is the founder of Baho Coffee , a company founded in 2016 with the aim of enhancing Rwanda's potential through high-quality coffee.

After more than 15 years of experience in the sector, he has developed a network of washing stations in different regions of the country, working closely with local manufacturers.

The name “Baho” means to live, to be strong and to overcome difficulties , values that guide the project from both a human and productive point of view.

The purchase of this coffee also contributes to local projects, including initiatives related to breast cancer prevention in Rwanda , strengthening the link between quality and social impact.
